Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hello…I’m busy this week with petsitting so might not be here every day. I’m on my porch right now and it feels a bit cool, nice breeze. I had a farmer’s market salad with my homemade dressing. I’m doing laundry and that’s it today, since I’m petsitting…maybe read later on my porch…hope you are all having a nice day 😍
Sounds like nice relaxing moments, Lynn, on the porch, and enjoying a salad with homemade dressing. Yum!! I will miss seeing you every day, but I understand. 🤗
Hi Lynn, i know you like your pet sitting gigs — have fun 💗
@Pam @julie Reed Timmer…CO tornadoes
Just turned it on. Thx, Ardyth.
Oops I see my battery’s just about dead on my laptop so it’s time to go charge it or plug it in
Oh no! 😱 so you will be out of touch for a little bit?
I just had to plug it in but I had some things to do
This is really bad; they keep having to close the airport
That isn’t good then
Which airport, Pam?
DIA!
Oh WOW!!
I tell you, I hate driving to the East side of town in the traffic!! Stresses me out!!! I told them my name and that i had an appt with DR Hud. I got in the office and the assistant asked me if i had any concerns and i mentioned i wanted him to look at my finger and she said “you do know you are seeing Carolyn Bangert today” I said no i did not and why since I have an appt with Dr Hud and I have gone to him for 40 years. She didnt know why. The… Read more »
Wow! Sounds like you got great service today, Ardyth. I guess sometimes things just have a way of working out. Will you see her again?
I am going to stick with Dr Hud i’ve going to him for 40 years and he has never steered me wrong and lets me wear my bra LOL he might be around my age so who knows how long he’ll work He might be a little younger and I keep her name. I’ll tell you more later when I find out about those biopsies that were hidden under my bra since they were on my boobs
Sounds like a plan. I think I would stick with him too. And yes, please stay up on those biopsies. 🙏
DANG! Sounds like she really knew what she was doing and what you needed — that’s wonderful {{HUGS}}
I was not very happy when I first got there because somebody should have told me like the front desk or maybe they should have called me and said he’s gonna be on vacation since I was scheduled 7 months out and it wouldn’t have been a big deal But anyway I ended up saying jeez maybe this is the blessing in disguise since I can have you imagine freeze these two skin tags I wouldn’t have asked Dr Hud to do because I would be too embarrassed
Exactly! 💖
Yeah — what Pam said. 💖
I’ll start up here with the Hummingbird. Earlier I had heard something hit the window outside which I thought was a little tiny bird so I opened the door to see if anything was laying there and I didn’t see anything. And then a few minutes later I heard this flapping noise and there was a Hummingbird flying around in the living room and dining room. So I told Rick and he tried to chase it out the door while I held the door open but it wasn’t going out the door. So then he got a broom and tried… Read more »
hope it’s ok, probably is…guess I’d be afraid to get it with my hand, they are so fragile…think I’d get a bowl or container and then slide a piece of cardboard or something under it, or whatever works. since it flew it’s most likely ok, might have been scared though.
They are fragile but it landed and I don’t think we would have had time to try and scoop something under it. When it was on the windowsill it would have flown away and it was flying back and forth and up on the ceiling. It was very frightened. So anyway it got out. It flew away. I’m sure it’s safe.
I would have been afraid to touch it also. Glad Rick could do it.
Oh what a scary moment, for all concerned! Thankful Rick had the right touch to handle it. Seems to me that if it was able to fly away, it should be okay. You’ve had an exciting day, Ardyth. Time for bed. 😅😂
OMGoodness; poor hummer and poor you/Rick — glad you were able to get the feathered love outside safely. 💗
Glad it wasnt a bat 🦇🦇🦇
It’s that time. I have to go get started on “stuff.” I can hardly wait. Anyway, I will check in. Julie, I hope you get the rest of the garden planted. Wish I could come help you and get my hands all dirty. Ardyth, I hope your appointment went well. Debbie, I’m not sure what exciting things you’re up to today yet, but I’m thinking you probably got Casey fed okay. I bet he’s just been chowing down. I hope to see everyone later. 🤩🤗
Karen I hope you can get that pile DONE.
Heading out to my garden see you later😍
Enjoy!!
Bye bye.
