Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good morning ladies. You’re right, I wasn’t here much yesterday. I wasn’t able to sit still in this heat so I couldn’t type. Yesterday morning I walked. I dont see it now but, will keep an eye for it. I dont want my pets to find it and mess with it. I have only seen one in our patio and that was 40 years ago, they live underground and get huge.
Because its there and there’s likely there’s more than one,maybe don’t let the cats out for their safety and I’m sure your with Nikki when she’s out so you can keep a eye on her

Good morning Ardyth toads secrete a liguid that tastes nasty part of their derence system. Funny finding a baby toad as they hatch from tadpoles and need water to do so, good thing to keep the toad away from your pets-the Colorado toad is very toxic-I never knew this. Your Bread looks delish😋

Good morning Bellas sun is shining and we are in for cooler weather. lots of roofs being replaced from the hail damage-lots of noise happening. Just a this and that day for me outside just beautiful weather😍
wish we could have gotten our roof fixed after the tornado several years ago…we had roof damage, damage to DH”s trailer, broken window (at least one in the attic) but insurance would only pay 30%…we watched everyone around us get roofs fixed, new siding, etc.
That sounds unfair Lynn, seems they they should have paid you at the same rate as others. Just because you had less damage doesn’t mean they shouldn’t pay the same for the damage you had. Is that trailer on your property? Were any neighbors homeless because of the tornado? Were you at home when it happened? It must have been really scary.
we didn’t have less…about the same or even more than some right here in our neighborhood..it was because DH had changed something maybe months or so ..like less tornado coverage? something like that…there were a couple guys who died during the tornado..yes, I’ve posted about it on these sites…the story of how I was on a mission, getting pets to the basement, two dogs, several cats…seeing and hearing things hitting the windows as I passed them, breaking glass…DH not coming home when I asked because it was scary…but a tree landed right where he would have pulled up…lots of oak… Read more »

Good morning…watching the news and seeing videos of the tornados and damage. I don’t usually watch the news but started last night, love Tom Skilling who is retired but returned to talk about the weather yesterday. we’re ok here but I’m wondering if my cousin heard from her DB yet..last night phones weren’t working and roads were all blocked there…I do think most of the damage was a block east from him, though
Wifi might be down and no power, they will go in his neighborhood and check things to see if anyone needs help they probably started doing that last night-If she doesn’t hear from him-she needs to let rescuers know asap, so they focus on finding him
pretty sure where he is, is ok…DH didn’t see any damage on a cam he has there..it’s a block away from damage..but my cousin still would have liked to hear from him, I’m sure
And that’s the right thing to do let people know your OK and even more so because of the damage that has happened

They block things off because of down Power lines and also to keep people from coming in and stealing peoples belongings-that has happened so they keep the areas secure from looting
