Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Apparently the fireworks at the Capitol were last night? My PBS says Colonial Williams rug. So I googled. AI said the Capitol stuff was last night>. I’m so confused.
My Capitol 4th doesn’t start til 10/MDT.
On what network? I have it on NBC right now but have been flipping around. Looks like fireworks in NYC.
PBS
Thanks Pam. It probably comes on here at 9.
CNN is showing Nashville
Thanks.
Macy’s is on CNN
Thanks.
Everything is so screwed up, there was going to be a huge fireworks show there, to get people to leave the national guard started flipping over picnic tables
This doesn’t look good OMG
Good grief
I’m back inside I got Jade outside after my walk had a small moment to be able to sit on the back steps before the mosquitoes found me
Julie: Bee food
Pretty flowers Julie.
Thats what I look at sitting on my back steps, the red flowers are Bee balm the orange are day lilliys
very pretty
I like the colors they pop
They sure have ‘pretty’ taste 😋
Theres bees all over the bee balm
Bees eat from the flowers, then feed trees, some of whom have fruit, thanks to bees. We haven’t had any bees this year. No pears for my yard this year.. Hopefully next year.
Feed trees?
Well, they pollinate all the flowers on the fruit trees,. One flower to another, which makes the flowers produce fruit. I think!! ?
Hey! Just up from a nap. Going to go water the yard, as i have a fire cracker fanatic living behind me, and he has just started.
Hi Karen I’m glad you are watering. It would be good to wet your roof but I don’t think your hose will spray that high!
Fire crackers explode on the ground they don’t fly up like fire works
Hi Debbie. Thank you. I have several hoses. I got it as good as I could. Most of it is really soaked.
Good job.
Hey Karen Marie Happy 4th😍🐞 good idea to water those suckers burn hot
Happy 4th, Butterfly! 😍 🦋 oh yeah, are quite hot and dangerous.
Been watching ABC all day; now the local news is broadcasting from a place called Banning Lewis Ranch in Colo Spgs where there are music stages, volleyball, food trucks, grills and hundreds of families/kids enjoying. Several of the kids squirted silly string all over the reporter. 😂 He just kept on reporting; a true professional. Another reporter served a volleyball using the microphone. 😂 Live reporting can be so much fun. The weather’s perfect for them; 75
Sounds great, Pam. 😊 It’s a cool place, I’ve heard, but I’ve never been there. It’s been thundering and lightening for a lttle bit now, but there are no rain clouds. Hopefully it won’t rain until the activities are over. But, i wouldn’t stop it if it does. We need it!
That does sound fun! I have had the tv on PBS and it just showed fireworks, so I’m confused. There is no place in the country that is dark yet. The show is supposed to be at the Capital and they spoke about the 250th. I thought maybe it was from last year.
My PBS is called America’s 250 in Virginia; the description shows Ken Burns. The Capitol 4th doesn’t start here til 10pm/MDT.
Going for a walk be back later
Bye
Does anyone know if the celebration airing on CBS is different, with different sponsors, than the one airing on PBS? I assume the PBS one is the official one? 🍊🍊🍊🍊. They are both in DC.
PBS will be better reporting
I think that is the one that has the sponsors you don’t like. The CBS and PBS are both in DC, but are different shows although they both will air the fireworks.
But watching PBS is better
