Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.
Before we leave for the hospital; Rick’s holding his own; the hospital notified his doctor here in Rocky that it was a stroke. We’ll find out what’s what and where his rehab will be. Hope there’s someplace nearer than Pueblo 🙄

Thanks for the update Pam. Safe travels to Pueblo. I hope the damage is something he can work through quickly. I’ll have to check with Nancy, but I think my right side was paralyzed for awhile, but by the time I woke up I didn’t notice it. Of course I could not stand either, in fact, I couldn’t sit on the side of the bed by myself a week later when I was first transported to rehab by ambulance. Good morning Bella Buds. We should have a good day weather wise. Lots of damage done in Kentucky yesterday. I haven’t heard details yet. There were tornado warnings all around me and including me. I think there were tornado touchdowns, I need more info. High winds, very hard rain. We were extremely lucky, we never had anything bad. It seemed to just skip over us. I think it is geographical. We had our bird feeders attacked again early this evening. Four of the eight feeders are missing and the poles bent…of course one of our big favorite one’s! They really did a number on them. We can’t get over how they can sneak in, do the damage, and then just disappear without us hearing or seeing anything. I’m guessing it was Momma and her three cubs since four feeders are totally gone…I wish I’d seen them!! Still want to go walking when you’re here?

Oh dear I assume she isn’t taking the feeders in. Hope you see the bears………SAFELY.
Taking down the feeders is a must, early evening is when they are out and about, that’s when they are waking up after sleeping all day, and if there’s a bear that keeps coming around you don’t put feeders out at all, its just what you have to do.
