Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Been a long day, think i’ll hit the sack! 😴
Love you all 💞
Hope you are sleeping good, Pam. Love to you. 😘
I must say good night to my dear friends. I’m in bed and getting sleepy. Ardy my thoughts are with you. Hang in there hope you can find somewhere you can nod off.
Love to all and a peaceful night.
Good night Debbie. I was just looking to see if I could find any delays at LAX or LAS. I hope you sleep good. And I hope you feel wonderful in the morning and are singing like a bird. Love you. Night night. 😍🌸🪻
Dream of nurses and rapists 😂😂
🤣😍
When Debbie makes a typo, she’s not messing around 😂
I see that! Still laughing . . .
🤣
Ardy is stuck ? Oh no !
Hello ladies, I’m sitting in the Los Angeles airport at 8:43 Pacific time eating my Jersey Mike’s sub compliments of the airlines. Although I had to chip in $3.54, my flight was canceled and now we’re not leaving till 1:00 a.m. and there’s a chance it might be canceled but I won’t know till then. I am not having fun but I just thought I’d let you know
Oh no Ardy I’m so sorry. Why was the flight cancelled? I’m so sorry, that is a long time to sit. Is there a couch to curl up on or at least prop your feet up on a chair? A tv to look at? Maybe a little tv with a movie to rent. I really don’t know anything about airports. I last flew before the shoe bomber!
I will just hang out. Where are they sit and wait for their plane to come in and where we board. Nothing I can do but sit here
I’ve had my compression holes on since 9:00 a.m. and I wonder how long I’m supposed to wear those. I don’t have my evening pills because I forgot them in the first place
If the hose are bothering you take them off. Just walk around ever so often. Not good about your pills, I hope that isn’t a big problem.
Theres nothing you can do but wait😫
Oh Ardy. So sorry to year this. Sure hope they can get you out at 1:00 and you don’t have to spend the night. Not a great waay to end your vacation.
No, it stinks Becki. It really stinks because Mike and Joanne gave me frozen walleye and it’s in my suitcase somewhere so I hope I don’t have a new stinky suitcase
Hope it doesn’t leak all over. That could be a stinky mess.
I don’t think it’ll leak but it’s probably not going to be frozen and it probably will stink
Oh no Ardy that is horrible! I’m so very sorry.
Oh no, hope it thaw out too badly; it’s just so HOT everywhere
Safe travels dear Ardyth, when you get going again 🙏
😱😳
Total bummer, Ardyth!! Thank goodness you have a cell phone and SPO. Some of us are still up. I will be up for a while if you get too bored. Are there any games you enjoy? I feel really bad for you. Just trying to cheer you up a little. 😘 Any others there you feel comfortable talking with?
Hi Karen, I don’t really want to use my phone too much because I’m going to need it to to get a hold of Rick at some point and there ‘s no place to charge your phones here
I understand. Ridiculous they don’t have a charging station there. I’m so sorry. Hang in there. I’ll be praying for the time to pass quickly.
There might be somewhere to get a charging cord and an outlet to plug it in. Or some other passenger might have one to let you borrow.
Oh no!!!!!Ardyth I hope you are home as I’m typing this😘
Howdy doBellaFam 💖 Home from Pueblo and the rehab facility. Last night’s t-storms tried to lull us into a false sense of coolness for today — HAH!! Once that sun came out; it just got hot and humid 🙄 Another t-storm/rain is happening right now and it did cool off from 95 to 75 at sunset. UPDATE: Rick’s working his rehab 2x a day and is scheduled to be released to come home on Aug 12; they’re trying to find some in-home part-time help. The problem is we live in a small rural town & resources are pretty sparse 😔… Read more »
Cute cartoon!! What a sweet birdie!! 😅 I’m so happy to hear Rick is doing so well. Sounds like he is serious about getting stronger. That is 90% of the battle. Keep him supplied with plenty of treats. 😉😘 They should be able to train you and Chuck to help Rick, depending how difficult the support is. By the time he gets home he will really want a smoke, unless he can quit? Maybe he will pick breathing over smoking. Especially if the PT makes him feel like a new man. I hope that is what happens. What is causing… Read more »
Hi Karen, glad to see you’re feeling better. 💗
Rick’s stroke affected his entire right side; his right hand/leg are being uncooperative and we’re hoping the therapy will get the synapses reconnected.
Thank you. 🥰
Got it. Thanks Pam – for some reason I didn’t think his hand was included in that. Sounds like a really good prognosis. 🙂🙏
Do you think they would be able to train you guys to help with his therapy?
I knew about the hand but not the leg. Is he able to use a walker to at least get to the bathroom on his T really is a major need.
Good grief. Can he use a walker to get to the bathroom on his own? That is a big need.
That’s what we’re hoping the therapy will restore his ability to do that on his own. I’ll probably have to tie his shoes and do other stuff; Chuck can’t do everything. But Rick’s gonna hate it. It’s what will motivate him.
Hi Pam, sounds mostly good to me. I have been in a lot of inpatient rehabs, from big city ones to small rural ones. I usually have had about 2 hours in the more of actual therapy. About all that was done in the afternoon was maybe walked down the hall a little, not by a therapist but regular staff. . It is wonderful if they are giving him real therapy twice a day. I net his stay is the usual 21 days in rehab. That is usually what Medicare will pay. I would think a home health agency would… Read more »
Hi Debbie, The typo in your post made me laugh. “The nurses and rapist were based nearby for me,” I am sure that is not what you meant.😂
OH NO! Well I’m glad you laughed instead of disowning me! I meant physical therapist. I’m not even sure that was a typo. That many letter. Good grief!
😂😘
Oh Debbie – that is your best one yet! Of course you didn’t mean it. That’s why it’s so funny!!! 😍😘
🤣😁. Well it was worth it if it made two people laugh.
Yes, it was hilarious, being that you were so innocent of the whole thing. ❤️
😈
OMG!!! 🤣😍😅😂 I had to LMAO!! I did not catch that, Becki! That’s just too funny!. 😂😍
OMG OMG — the nurse and the rapist? Well, that’s certainly something to write home about 😂😂
It sounds like he is improving. That is good to hear. Is his leg getting better? Hopefully he won’t push to go home before they say he should.
It is usually the 21 days allowed by Medicare. I never did understand the reasons those dates could be expanded. I was in Vanderbilt Hospital and the social worker said I could be transferred to a rehab. I said I had already done 21 days after discharge from the last hospital. I think she said I could quality for another round since I’d been put in the hospital again so I was transferred to the 2nd rehab from Bandervilt. In 3 days they came in and said I’d have to leave in about 3 days, that Medicare wasn’t paying. I… Read more »
Just think how far you have come.
You are right! And I do. I think about it just about every day. I don’t take it for granted. I even think about it when I get off the commode! I remember when I it took two people, one on each side of me, to sit on the side of the bed.
That was a scary time, Debbie. Especially the first few days. 😥
Yea but not so much for me. I was out of it for 3 weeks.
Give me the beer.
🥰
Me too, to heck with the cap 😏
I’m going after my supper. Back a little later.
Hello! Happy Eve to All!! 🥰🐒 I have been doing paperwork all day. Up to my ears in it! My husband has a gazillion accounts and I don’t trust his math, so I do it all. Including the usual household stuff and my petty miscellaneous accounts. Whew!!! I don’t know where to go to find curtains these days. I used to go to Fingerhut for stuff like that. I just love them. And now they’re out of business. How sad. It still has not rained here. But it is a little cooler. I’m going to go out and turn on… Read more »
Oh Karen that is funny. How in the world do you have so many accounts?! I between the two of us we have a lot, but not that many where you need to do math, as in balance an account. You wear a lot of hats in your family. I’m hoping Pam checks in and tells us about Rick. I doubt if we hear from Ardy before I go to bed, but you never know. That would be nice. I haven’t grilled in a long time, but I’ve been thinking I should get the grill cleaned up and ready, and… Read more »
Debbie, I would love to use a grill again. But we both have such a hard time moving around and lifting heavy things and operating a grill hood and all that, that we will probably just continue to use the stove or oven. But, if we have a small Hibachi or something, I might be able to use that if I set it up on the picnic table or something. I will have to look into it, because I love Burgers cooked outside. And yes, we have a lot of different accounts. Just the ones for General house stuff add… Read more »
Hi Karen…my DH sometimes uses a George Foreman grill, like in the winter when he can’t grill outside. You do have a lot of accounts!
i love my George Foreman ♥♥ i use it more than the Air Fryer
Good to hear, Pam. I have thought about an air fryer, but not sure yet. Don’t know too much about them. I remember years ago, when I first heard about a guy who wanted to air fry his turkey for Thanksgiving. I thought I was going to die laughing. 🤣
Oh dear, that sounds …not very good. Roasting is just so much tastier, not to mention easier 🙄
Evidently, he was more concerned with having to wait for it to cook. It seems like he said he could do a 15 lb turkey in about an hour. I didn’t put too much thought into it back then, but you’re right, that really doesn’t sound good at all.
Yes, Lynn, a little George Foreman would work! 🥰
With 3 Utilities accts, basic internet, Wi-Fi, cable pkg, 3 or 4 special channels, a couple of credit cards, doctor’s accounts, trash service, insurance pymts, and cell phones, we have quite a few. But they are all necessary. Wow! I’ve never listed them all before. No wonder I am so busy! 🤣
I think you would enjoy a little grill that sits on a table. I’ve had several, some charcoal, come gas that use the little canisters. A lot of people prefer charcoal and I don’t blame them. But for those physical challenged gas is easier.
I think I would like a little one too. Not sure which heat method. Gas would be easier and cleaner, but charcoal is just so good. I sometimes like to add a branch of one of my trees and smoke the meat that way. Yummy!
It is good. You just have to do the extra steps of preparing the charcoal and the clean up after it has cooled.
True. It’s not too bad though, better than trying to clean up a pan from the oven. 🫠
I’m just thinking if using gas makes you more likely to grill, then better than not grilling at all.
Definitely have to think about it. Do they make any that can be adapted to use either way, I wonder?
My big grill can be used both ways but I don’t know about a table top.
I’ll check into it. Thanks, Debbie. 😍
Ardyth welcome home sweet heart😍
