Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good morning…going to try and finish the decorating today..still not sure if I’ll put out the village, DH isn’t thrilled but will do it..he’d hav to carry down a huge heavy box and then plug them in for me, his job, lol…it does look pretty but I don’t put any little people or little trees out now, they’d be all over the house with Maui, lol…also have to do cards sometime but most important my lists for us and other people, gift ideas…kind of doing things late this year…oh well. Good morning Lynn sounds like you’re getting things done and sitting out those pretty and nostalgic decorations. I ran out of Christmas cards, didn’t have as many as I thought so I ordered some. Good morning! I know I wasn’t here yesterday but I was in a lot of pain. I have not two bumps on my index finger, I’m sure it’s related to arthritis and every now and then it flares up and they feel tight and they’re red and they hurt plus my Rotary cuff is bothering me and it hurts to type, Even though the specialist said it wasn’t that bad there was nothing they could do at this point. oh crap, Ardy, so sorry about all your pain! Hope it gets better so you can do things without pain. glad Roger’s bleeding has stopped and hope the wound doesn’t close up again, needs to drain…not sure but thought it wasn’t good to use peroxide? not sure but think we had to get something at the vet that was better and didn’t hurt so bad so the cat would accept it, don’t remember what it was, it’s been a long time…we don’t have any inside/outside ones anymore
Hi Lynn Yes I think we’ve had this discussion before but Rick has always used peroxide. It never seemed to be a problem although the Cats don’t like it you’re right about that.
Good morning Ardy I missed this post earlier. My ball doesn’t work and my bell doesn’t work right, but does work. I hope your pain subsides. I do believe arthritis can be affected by weather, mostly low barometric pressure. There are scientific reasons for it. Hope you don’t have RA. I’m glad Roger seems better but keep monitoring it. I know sometimes that is hard with a cat. That chicken looks wonderful I know I would enjoy it. Michi and that tree with the lights sure make for a sweet, beautiful photo. wow, you had a rough day yesterday, that finger looks painful, maybe when using the laptop you could put some kind of cloth under your wrist, or maybe a wristband to cushion your wrist, my shoulder also bothers me sometimes when using my mouse, so I put it at a lower level on my desk…hope you feel better soon

Good evening…we went out for a bit..more treats and dog food at the farm store, then a few things at the grocery store..stopped by my mom’s to check out my sister’s decorating, looked nice, inside and outside. Going to put on Christmas in Conneticut on TCM and look at a couple magazines my mom gave me.
oh and Karen..maybe you meant to cajun popcorn. there was a store that had about 50 or more flavors, was hard to decide..at least the vendor at the market doesn’t have that many.

Hi Debbie, no it’s for Bane and Scout…the kind we get is pretty expensive so wouldn’t be able to donate also…DH doesn’t want them to have grains (I don’t really either) and it’s Merrick Beef and sweet potato…we’ve also bought mostly by accident, Beef, bison, and sweet potato. I’ve told DH to look around and see if there is something else good but a bit cheaper but he doesn’t want to take the time right now.
I’ve bought Merrick before. I’ve been thinking of trying that for Macie. Do you feed dry or canned? Maybe both. Right now Macie gets Royal Canine dry and Purina Pro Plan wet.
just the dry…my cats get dry and a couple T of canned each day, not Merrick though
we did used to buy Merrick cans for other cats before, once in awhile but haven’t bought that in awhile.
I do have some cat food cans I might donate to the pantry. DH got them at Aldi and his dad’s cat doesn’t like it so..I”m sure someone can use them.
Shadow of the Thin Man was on TCM earlier today; i’ve seen it more than 7 times — one of my all-time faves.
