About the nest
This live sea eagle nest camera is positioned approximately 50 feet above the ground in a eucalyptus tree within a protected nature reserve at Sydney Olympic Park. The nest is home to a pair of White-Bellied Sea Eagles (Haliaeetus leucogaster), one of Australia’s largest native birds of prey.

Rainy morning at the nest ☔
Big slept near the nest last night, so Big got a fish to eat at 6:28 this morning. They saw Lil flying several times yesterday near the river, being chased by birds, but Lil didn’t come to the nest area. Big is never going to learn to catch prey by constantly hanging around the nest and getting fed. It’s nice to see them here, but they’re going to have to venture off on their own soon.
Ranger Judy who monitors the nest said that the fledgling who has been eating at the nest on November 21st and on the morning of November 22nd is E35 (Big). The fish feeding today (22nd) at 16:27 also looked like Big to me. The ranger said that they have seen E36 (Lil) flying strongly and being swooped at and chased by other birds. I don’t know why Lil doesn’t come back to the nest for food. Maybe Lil is trying to fish or catch a bird. I hope that Lil is being fed too. The two fledglings haven’t been perching… Read more »

Big has lighter colored head feathers than Lil, and her head is wider when she is looking straight at the camera. Lil’s head is slightly narrower than Big’s head. Big also cries when she wants food and when she’s eating too (you have to turn the sound on). Lil doesn’t cry and cry like Big. Big was crying at the 6:28 feeding this morning.
It’s a little easier like at Duke when the eaglet is banded and they zoom in on the band. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Lil any more. I would have thought that the older fledgling would leave the nest area before the younger one.
Thx for the updates. Missed a whole day here. Dogsat and then bowled. Now I’m looking at a lonely nest.

Mom took the fish and fed it (im pretty sure) to Lil, i saw a white chest spot
There were 2 deliveries, a fish at 8:35 and a bird at 8:39. The eaglet was fed the bird at 8:42 and then fed the fish afterward. It had a very huge hearty breakfast this morning. Hopefully, the other eaglet will get some food later on today.

Apparently, it was Big who had the hearty breakfast rather than Lil.
16:45 a Bird was brought to the nest and it was claimed by Lil.
Big had her eye on the bird and tried to get it from Lil, but Lil held onto it and ate most of it. Big managed to eat a few scraps of it.
Then at 18:04. the parent brought a fish which Lil also claimed. Lil couldn’t seem to get the fish started, so 5 minutes later, Big took the fish from Lil. It’s also possible that Lil wasn’t that hungry after eating the whole bird. Lil spent a lot of time watching Big eat the fish, maybe to learn how to get it started. Lil managed to eat a few bites of it at the end.
0641 an adult flew near the nest, then other adult brought a fish. They hung out a bit, moving some sticks, hit in the head. Mom was looking around for the kids, so then she ate some of the fish. One of the kids fly in at 0648 she leaves the fish for the eaglet, sorry, dont know if it was Lil or Big
