You are watching a mating pair of Bald Eagles named M2(male) and F3(female). The nest and PTZ cams are located in a Loblolly pine tree near Kincaid Lake in the Kisatchie National Forest. The cams have been set-up and are maintained by the U.S. Forest service. Nesting usually starts in December followed by egg laying in mid to late January.

We’ll may miss the hatch at the E-3 nest. The cam battery is solar powered, and with the storm and clouds, there hasn’t been any sun.

Louis was there at 11:20 and 15:02, but no food was brought. She called and called for him to bring food, but it is now 17:34 and neither parent has brought anything to eat. The older eaglet ate a little fish yesterday and it did a PS today. I don’t think that the little one had anything yesterday and nothing so far today. This storm came at a bad time, when one of the parents has to stay on the eaglets because they can’t thermo regulate yet, so only one parent can hunt. Looks like Louis didn’t bring anything or come to brood today. Hope that he’s okay. The squirrels, rabbits, etc. are probably staying in their warm shelters today. I wondered why fish are harder for the eagles to catch when it rains, and I found this explanation, “The surface disturbance and resulting turbidity from runoff change the visual environment underwater. Raindrops breaking the surface tension reduce light penetration, making it difficult for predators to spot the fish. And the fish go deep down in this weather. There’s plenty of coot and geese down there flying around our ducks. I sure wish one of them would snag one.🙏
They only shared a little bit of leftover fish that Louis brought yesterday. So far Louis didn’t bring anything today. Anna keeps getting up and calling for Louis to bring food. Nothing so far at 2 pm. Crops are flat. Big one is bonking. Was hoping that they would be fed real good early this morning before the storm moved in.
So Monday is the pip watch day for Alexll &Andrea ll first Egg 🥚 but they spent alot of time off the Egg so probably Wednesday❤️

The youngest got about 3 bites to eat. The oldest one started bonking and the youngest couldn’t eat. Youngest got nothing at the 16:25 and 17:04 feedings. The dad came for awhile. He ate himself and then brooded.
Yes it’s always tuff for the second one. But hopefully it will get better soon ❤️
