Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. They might shoot out sprouts but not a real bush.
It won’t work even if I let them grow they won’t last the winter with the exposed wood-where they are cut
You really don’t want them to grow.
They are just going to die-its not that I don’t want them to grow, its not realistic to let them grow any more its like cutting all the branches of a tree and expecting it to grow new branches and leaves it would take a very long time like over 10 years for something to grow back
Because the branches are cut off like main branches that’s the only point something could grow back new growth will not come out of the ground

Nope and never, its like cutting down a Christmas tree the stump doesn’t grow another tree
That used to be lush green shrubs, I would put Xmas lights on them😥

That is a possibility. They may be a company the insurance people got a contract with.
Those are destroyed they just hacked them off those are not gonna grow back I’d be mad as heck too.

Oh no momment😫 Bruce showed up so I went outside to see him and the roof guys cut down all my wild flowers out front, I needed them to still be growing as the plants are making seeds and I needed the seeds to self sow-but its a bonus to because I would of been cutting it back in a month so it saved me work-they didn’t know, they were going to park the dumpster there to get the shingles from the other side of the house, they are parked the dumpster in the street they can’t park on the… Read more »

I told Bruce not to get those shrubs replaced with more of the same shrubs, Hydrangia bushes or bridals veil bushes would look nice there

What did they do to the trees?
I will send you a picture-they cut them half down they will die. A guy from the roofing company came to look at them and take pictures

They are getting there, they have done a lot of cleaning up it started sprinkling before and I was saying rain please hold off so they don’t have to come back tomorrow😘
That is awful Julie. I’d be madder than a firecracker. They should have asked, you don’t go cutting down someone’s plants. I’d be saying something to those jackasses. Don’t take out the bushes yet it is possible they can come back.

Yes the took off 4 layers of shingles, I’m thinking having all those layers gone one layer is going to be cooler up in my room?
I really don’t know the cooling factor. That was a lot of roofs.
Well I was just thinking all those layers being heated up by the sun and holding onto the heat. Like the heat accumulated. Less shingles less heat?
