Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. My main job today has been playing with Dutchess. She has been in one of those moods where she wants to play all day. She has the energy of a one-year-old puppy. And she gets snarky when I don’t accommodate her in that way.

I had a lot of my reply typed and the page jumped and I lost it. Yes I really remember. For Casey I fed him breakfast supper and treat. I replenished his treat box including crackling nuts. Cooked supper took awhile to sear the meat. Did some ordering, had two hour plus phone calls, filled 2 gallon jugs with filtered water which is slow. Then one jug had a leak and had to drain it and put in recycling. Oh I guess there is more but that is enough. I gotta post before it disappears again.
