Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning Bella Buds it is literally the calm before the storm. 19 outside. That is warm for a lot of you but not for us as a daytime temp. I’ve been watching tennis but I know all the news is centered on the weather. I’ll get plenty weather to watch later. I was sorry to hear Jewel is missing, but glad to hear Jade is doing well. There was never anything said about Olive was there? Just assumed she was gone. I wonder if there is a period after they stop raising babies that they are actually still living… Read more »

Good Morning Debbie, coffee clinks, I looked up humming birds they only live 3-5 years, maybe with the hummers there was a challenge for their territory and got chased off? Hummers do fight hard and can fight to their death-that was on the PBS documentry

These cats go for a walk everyday with their owner, I love the little blue hat. They just walk along you can hear their paws crunching in the snow

I didn’t know TN would get hit before is. That is probably in the Memphis area and it is coming from the southwest so it makes sense. Last I heard it isn’t supposed to start here until about 11.

Morning…nothing new. Raining lightly and I am getting ready to color my hair. I let it go a week longer than normal.
It’s going to be another boring day for me.

Good morning Bellas it’s -14 right now-and no wind so plan on getting a walk in😃 Winter storm is moving across the country, I have seen on the news that they prepped the best they could salting their roads and sanding them. Wish everyone involved to make it through this scary time. and remember to check in on neighbors and freinds💖
