Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning. I’m hearing from friends further east that weather is not as bad as predicted thus far. I do worry about friends In New York in Conn. and esp. Vermont. Here, we continue to be dry though the severe cold continues. Wishing everyone a good day.
Good Morning Lin😘 coffee clinks
Tea clink back🙂 Sending prayers for Judy’s brother.
Tea clink too😃
Good morning Lin I still have power.
Good morning Bella Buds I still have power, my sister does not. She has a generator with one space heater and lamp on. I told her after a while unplug the heater and plug in the refrigerator, let it run a cycle, then plug the heater back on. We are covered in ice, some large limbs laying in the yard. I saw a salt truck and a city or electric truck. Other than that only the birds are stirring. The electric company came through trimming limbs that could fall on electric lines, maybe that has helped. Right now we are… Read more »
Good Morning Debbie, I feel bad for Nancy. hat kind of generator is she using? some shouldn’t be used in enclosed areas, for safety. I thought your lines were buried? Good they are being proactive on the limbs
The generator is outside I don’t know anything else. Gabi has buried power lines not me.
Got I was thinking about that, Its really good they are trimming branches, for you are the branches down out front?
Big branch in front, bigger one in back.
Oh my I remember those big trees, keep Jo inside she will want to go out and try and clear them and more branches could fall
You are right. I’m going to tell her let’s just see if we can get a tree service to do it. Just let them lay just so the service gets them before mowing time.
They aren’t going any where just leave them, other branches could come down! it’s to dangerous to be under trees
I agree.
This post has come to the top I need to refresh bib
Plans canceled for today, Judy’s brother fell and she doesn’t want to leave him alone-and I can understand that-he’s not hurt, but is afraid if he gets up out of bed he could fall again
Oh no Julie I’m so sorry. So he is a lot weaker. I know this is disappointing but I’m sure your concern is Gary. Prayers for you all.
Yes, he just fell and Judy got him up and back into bed and doesn’t want to leave him
I’m so sorry.
Me too, there’s nothing to be done medically just keep him safe from falls, he’s on hospice, she said he looks ashened, can see a difference in him. I feel so bad for her
I’m so sorry. It is so hard. Impossible to prepare for.
Kensington Philadelphia.
North east is going to get the largest amount of snow
Yes they are.
Ardyth😱!!!! Good Morning😘 coffee clinks
Mississippi look at the trees😯
I just have to look out the window.
The trees look like this?
Yes but they aren’t bushy like that bush.
Good morning Ardy.
Good Morning Bellas, glad to hear some areas from this winter storm is not really bad sleet instead of freezing rain, sleepy is just another name for hail, strong winds aloft just pull the rain drops up into the atmosphere over and over again until it becomes to heavy a frozen rain drop with many coatings of ice on it and the wind can’t keep it aloft it falls like hail or sleet. People might get thunderstorms from this storm system. Wacky weather for sure😜 Have a great Sunday
Judy still picking you up today?
Yes at 10:00😃
Good morning Sunshine.
The weather isn’t looking so bad now for my area. They seem to be putting less emphasis on the ice. I’ll take it if y’all promise to stop any worrying! I’ll be around to aggravate tomorrow. Time for me to head to bed. Good night to all and much love. Thanks for all the support. See you tomorrow. 🥰♥️
Good night, dont slide.
Lol, be around to aggravate, ha.😁 sleep good.
👋👋
Everybody be safe. Your winterstorm is on our news.🥺.
We here have ice warnings, too.
Good Morning Gabi🌱💙 you stay safe, make sure you charge things and have a flashlight🔦
Thank you julie, but the good thing is : our power lines are in the ground. We almost never are without power. I have my stuff charged. Its only tablet and our wireless phone. I have a flashlight but never really need it.
Thank you for thinking of me.🕯💡🪔☎️📞🧦🧣😘🌱.
Good to know Gabi. Just stay in, be safe.
Will do.
Hi Gabi, so far I have power. We will be at risk all day.
Seen it on the news, so sorry for the many many without power.
Hopefully it will stay safe and good for you. Pills.
😘
It’s great news about the freezing rain, save the trees from damage-your power lines already protected because they are under ground.
My power lines are not under ground that is Gabi.
😺
Ice rain can create an ice crust on trees, and branches can break off. Not good for trees.🌲🌳😔.
Pam, how far is Colorado Springs from Pueblo? Aldi’s is finally going in both Colorado Springs and Denver sometime this year. I was so surprised to read that Colorado had none at all. I know you and Chuck go to Pueblo on occasion, just wondered how much of a long day it would be to hit the Aldi’s if you so desired. Your washer and or dryer doesn’t have a pause button I’m guessing. Your furnace is still going I’m guessing – sometimes. You also must be in the path of the storm, are you in the ice or snow… Read more »
Hi Gem! Re: Aldi’s, it’ll depend on what side of town the Aldi’s in the Springs is located. We’re an hour east of Pueblo and another hour south of the Springs. Pueblo is also getting a Sprouts which i’m very excited about. Love that store.
We are just snow and cold; our humidity/dew point is usually too low for a lot of ice/sleet; unless it rains first of course, but it’s Way. Too. Cold for rain 😏
