Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Seems I can type right now. I really don’t know what is going on. The dentist office called, they are going to do her work at 3 this afternoon so that is good. I didnt care for the new chicken recipe last night, barely ate any…no big deal if I go to bed hungry. I slept TWO hours later than normal…woke up just in time for Nikki’s ♥ pills.

We threw the recipe away…..it had canned mushrooms and spinach in it. The spinach was from his garden

Oh no, Ardyth! I’m sorry to hear that. I always have to be careful with canned mushrooms and spinach. They just don’t seem to go with much. Too bad you had to go to bed hungry. Broccoli looks good though. 😘

Ok. 🙂 How do you manage to have spinach in the winter? I know it can be a cool weather plant, but it seems like it would still be too cold in the winter. Do you have a special setup or something?
It only grows here in the winter i think…..nothing special….. he picked most of the spinach yesterday, radishes are growing too
So it is only a cool weather plant. Not too hot. I didn’t realize that Arizona would be too hot for it.

Yep, that’s too hot for spinach – and me!! I remember last year you said you were not liking some of those days. I would have been so exhausted, just from the heat itself.
I bought green nail polish at the dollar tree and after i put it on it went flat/dull. I was surprised because it was shiny in the bottle but after the top coat it looks good………….we’ll see how it lasts on my toes since it is so cheap.😃

Good morning!! Looks 46° here today, and about 45° for the rest of the week, until Monday. No, no storm now. Been clear for a couple of days. But the weather we had a few days ago brought lots of high-speed wind. I could hear it at night, whipping through every single crack in the house. Pretty big gusts, just right for kicking down trees, especially Aspens. Everything looks really nice now, just a little bit of snow left. 😀
Good late morning…the sun is out again, nice…I’ll do this and that, not even sure what that will be, lol..I always have a list so I’ll look at it. We still haven’t gone to FILs at night, it’s been awhile for me…I think it’s more of a social thing and chatting with the caregiver..sometimes he barely knows I’m there but I do say hi and sometimes show him a couple or few pictures if he’s awake and not watching a show. he can only hear a tiny amount out of one ear, the other completely deaf…I don’t like to keep yelling and yelling
Sorry about that, I’m sure it has been treated as far as possible. It must be frustrating to him.
well, sometimes the hearing aid works a bit better, not great, than other times…he doesn’t act frustrated so don’t know
I guess it is sometimes hard to separate what is dementia from what is a physical challenge.
at this point it’s not that hard..we know he can’t hear well at all and his eyes are bad…we only notice the dementia when he starts telling stories that are just not right, like things from the past..or when he’s not sure who someone is. I know what you mean, though.
Sounds like his Cognitive abilities are not too bad.
well, he still plays games on his IPAD so that’s good..and sometimes his mind is still pretty sharp but it just goes back and forth
Hi Lynn. I’m sorry you are having this problem. I have such a hard time too trying to figure out how to talk with people of that age or those who are really having a difficult time with understanding. I get really uncomfortable and I don’t know what to say or do. I usually just smile and try and be nice. Maybe you can bring in a bouquet of flowers or something really different to grab his attention. Just thinking it out. 🌸
it’s ok, Karen, I’m used to it…he’s not really a flower person and there’s a cat there. It seems pictures are the way to go with him..even if he just looks at them and I usually have at least a couple..like of DS or photos that DS took. He can’t see that well either but I make the picture bigger. My inlaws never seemed that thrilled with me but I always am respectful and nice..and at least say hi and bye to him, smile and wave. Oh, I’m sorry about the in-laws. That makes it really hard for you. I guess you’re doing all you can do, just whatever you can, with a smile on your face. Maybe they can feel your help but just don’t know what to say. Does your DH understand?

Hi Debbie! Hard to believe the temperature here is twice that of your area! We could probably deal with that temperature much better than you guys can. Julie is using a Chrome laptop and I’m using an Apple Ipad. You don’t get much more different than that. I’m betting my newer car will need to be jump started. It is the only vehicle will a screen and a lot of electronics. Those electronics drain on a battery even when the car is just sitting.
I think they are getting carried away with trying to put too many electronic things into too many items. It’s like we never get away from it all. So did you try to start it yet?

I am not having trouble typing so I dont know why they are having problems either.
Every now and then it will start kicking me around, especially if I type too much. I use my phone explicitly now.
