Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Debbie and I were waiting for Lily to get up and off the nest for a long time-then she got up and there were two eggs think she was laying a egg that’s why she wasn’t getting off the nest😂
That is so exciting! She was determined to take her time though. 🤗🤗

It was on the national news of her passing, and lots of Youtube videos about her-I saw a video where she was fighting against developement on Big Bear
I’ve seen it everywhere, I didn’t mean I didn’t know she died. It is all over Facebook.
Yes, she has won against development in areas of certain flowers in the Valley, where they do not exist anywhere else in the world. I know I worded that all wrong, but I couldn’t figure it out, so hopefully you can. 🤣

Well, I follow Jackie and Shadow, although I don’t talk much about it. And I really admire and like Sandy Steers. I watch all of her reports and briefings. She, and her work, will really be missed. Such an advocate for the preservation of all things nature, especially rare plants/flowers and eagles. She is recognized by many worldwide organizations. Just wanted to honor her in my own way. ❤️🙏
I watch mainly on SPO but I do see things on Facebook. I just don’t pay attention to the names of the people. I usually just read the things.
I follow them mainly on youtube. That is where I found them.

Thank you, Debbie. Yes, she appears to be loved by everyone I’ve followed her for about 3 years. I just watched another one of her interviews last night with a worldwide nature organization. Can’t remember their name right now, it was foreign.
When you first mentioned Big Bear and the sad face I thought maybe something happened to one of the eagles. But I felt bad about Sandy too when I read what was written about her. When I go to bed at night I a.ways check Facebook and I see the input there for FOBBV. There is a lady who does the write up for the group I’m going to have to get her name. I really like her.
I know a lot of their names, but I can’t think of her name specifically right now. All at FOBBV are very sad and have announced that they will be talking more, but will need to take a little time. I just thought that some of the people that we see watching Big Bear on SPO might have said something. I don’t want to be the first one.
If you don’t do YouTube or Facebook you probably don’t know, so,e people just stay on SPO most of the time.
Hmmmm. I’m not going to say anything . I don’t think it’s my place.
I keep waiting and checking their SPO site to see if anyone has said anything, but no one has been on the site yesterday early evening.
I’m sure they are very sad.
