Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I boiled 4 eggs yesterday, ate two for lunch and saved 2 for today. But today I just wanted something else. I thought, if I had lettuce I’d make a tossed salad and put an egg on it. Then I thought, I’ll have it anyways, just sans lettuce. I got some of those kind of veggies if I don’t eat I’ll have to toss. So I put it all on my pretty new plate and it looks great!

Oh what a pretty plate Debbie.
I was reading what you wrote to Rick and when I got to the word sans, I said I dont know what she was trying to say and he knew it meant without right away…lol My point was I said to Rick “now, why cant I eat like that?
Looks great Debbie…what did you use for dressing?

Yes my plate is pretty. The dressing is just fat free Catalina French. But I sprinkled dried chopped onion on it, like what you find with the spices, and minced garlic. I may do it all again tomorrow as I have one 🥚 left.

Good afternoon…I got busy yesterday and then at night we went out to eat, just a casual family restaurant..I got a spinach feta omelet. Afterwards we went to FIL’s for a short visit. We were both tired so came home, fed the dogs, took them out..then I just read and fell asleep kind of early. Today is sunny, high in the 60s but feels like 50s with the wind. I’m going to take the dogs for short walks later and work on “doggie homework”. I didn’t send any pictures to Ardy, kind of changed my mind but could send a… Read more »

Hi Lynn, busy is good. It means you were not bored. You can’t beat casual family restaurants. And you can’t beat fried fish, especially this time of year.
