Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning Bella Buds and happy Thanksgiving Eve. I’m cooking the turkey today because I want to be free tomorrow for parades, football and maybe other specials. It doesn’t really matter to the two of us. I’ve already got sides out of the freezer and the vacuum sealer out. Next foil line what I will cook it on. So that will be my day! I have to do things in spurts. I’m so much better than I was but still have to deal with fatigue issues. Maybe the RA? I really don’t know.
‘Y’all have the nest day possible.

Good morning…the weather is awful….wind is up to 25, gusts of 50…”feels like” is 11…started late last night…and more of the same tomorrow..of course it’s really grey also, dreary….not sure yet what I’m doing today. FIL enjoyed the festival of lights…he told DH he’d never seen anything like it (his third time) 😀…and talked about it for a half hour. She might take him again. I hope we don’t have too many days like this, don’t like being stuck inside…Debbie, I don’t know if you saw my pictures? Love Ardy’s pictures, looks like a nice restaurant and such a nice… Read more »

Good morning Lynn. Wow you are having a lot of wind! And cold! I think it is so good the caregiver took FIL to see the lights. She is a good, caring caretaker and you are lucky to have her. It is good for your FIL. I reread chat this morning, something I usually don’t do. There was a lot of chat, took me a long time to read it. I found I did miss some posts. You, Gem, Karen. That is also very rare for me. I come to chat usually about every hour or so throughout the day… Read more »

she is talking about taking him again…wonder if he’ll forget he was just there. DS has a pretty good camera now, not sure what kind and takes lots of good photos. I guess it depends on which side of town you live in here..if the ravine wasn’t here then of course it wouldn’t be woodsy.
