Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

that is very sweet…I hope Jade isn’t afraid of loud noises..one time a noise, not that loud, scared one of my cats that was on a leash and she got out of the leash and ran off..I was SO scared and freaking out..she went down into the ravine and laid in a little dip in the ground and cried…DH found her, picked her up and held her very tightly and brought her in…that was years ago and i don’t do that with my cat anymore.

Julie started by acclimating Jade, starting out with her on a lead in the back yard, then front yard, then walking down the street.

Hang onto your hat Ardyth, with power surges I unplug things if I’m not using them, a surge can fry the electronics

In my first good morning post I referred to including “regular Americans” in our Memorial thoughts. I was thinking of non military, non first responders who have also given their all to this country, to stand up for all downtrodden. More specifically, during some events that happened near Deborah.

It is Pentecost Sunday so I wore red to church. I only have one top that is red with thin white stripes. We have the best organist that is in charge of the music on special Sundays. The choirs were combined today and there was a brass section and some of the bells people too. The choirs are done for the summer now and it was our new choir directors last day. The music was fun and one of my funeral songs was sung by the choir. Harriet and I talked after church. Then I braved Walmart. I put everything away… Read more »
