Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Wild fires in Minnesota just heard it on my news, they said we will be getting bad air from the fires, I was like what?
It just keeps coming. Trouble everywhere.
The fires are bad, not contained
From far south to far north and throw in some flooding.
Worried about My Mom she’s surrounded by woods everything is so dry a literal tinder box
Doesn’t she have water between her and existing fires? So it would have to be new fire? Does the town have a fire department?
Volunteer fire department they have one, parents house is souronded by woods and the are dry one spark and they could go up, once there was a fire from a lightning strike everyone ran to the woods with shovels to beat the fire out everyone just hops in and starts to work, fire fighter or not you just do
Small town, folks take care of each other. I’m sure Mom will be ok what with the fire dept and good people who watch out for each other.
