Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Made it to 100 today; glad the A/C compressor is only 5 years old.
Sheet day/shower done.
Whenever I went to DisneyLand/World, i collected/bought pins and did the trade-thing with both random strangers (visitors) and cast members (employees). And now i have about 60 of them; unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any Limited Editions. 😔 So probably not worth overmuch, but some of them are very cool. I’ll get ’em stored in the Disney pin book for display, then see if Chelsea wants it for Lexi.
Everyone try to stay cool/dry.

What kind of pins are these and they are traded. You just walk up to strangers and say wanna trade?

YES!! You wear them on a lanyard and people look to see if you have one they want. I had a young guy want to trade something for my Ariel; said his girlfriend loved that character and the pin i had was discontinued.

I googled lanyard. You wear it around your neck? The ones I saw looked like they only held one thing. This sounds like so much fun. Do you meet in a designated area?

Just walk around the park, lotsa people do it. The Disney lanyards are about 1-2 inches across so you can pin several up and down each one/side.

I love Katie’s snake dress with the skulls on it. She is on the bold and the beautiful. If I was younger and had her figure I would try and find that dress to buy.

Oh I’m here and there. I got my clothes put in my suitcase All the other stuff will go in tomorrow with just the final things on Wednesday morning. Trying to decide what to bring for shoes to walk in. She said The lane slash drive to the road is dirt but I think I’ll just bring my sandals anyway in hopes that I get to walk. So much in General Hospital right now

Good morning Bella Buds. Cloudy today. They came early to mow the grass, probably trying to stay ahead of rain coming. It was fun talking to Karen last night. I thought she was either a robot or scammer!
Nothing percolating around here yet. I have a business call I need to make before the noise starts. 😁. I have to mail in some forms relating to taking RMD on retirement funds. Ardy, we reached the correct conclusion about taking it this year as well as next. Be sure to get it done.
Yall have a good day.

Thanks Debbie. I went online again and checked and I do have to take it by the end of the year which we will do in about October probably and then just once next year right?

KyDebbie
July 20, 2026 10:06 am

You don’t have to take it this year but it is best to help keep you out of a higher tax bracket. I had a choice of taking the money once a year of\r spreading it out. I chose to take it quarterly in my biggest account but will take it annually for the rest. The money they take out for the year will be the same for the year regardless, but instead of one lump sum you can get it broken down into more frequent payments. At least I could with the company I’ve already done. I’m dealing with… Read more »

From what I read if I don’t take it out this year then I have to take it out by April something and then again in December So I will take it before December this year and then again next year by December

KyDebbie
July 20, 2026 11:46 am

Yes, that is the law but if you do both 2026 and 2027 in the same calendar year it can force you into a different tax bracket than usual. Of course that might not happen regardless. The only reason not to is that you loose interest on those 4 months for just the amount you withdraw. More than likely neither scenario is a significant amount of money anyway.

Rick said it wont be much money that i will be taking out. But to be safe I’m going to do it this fall and then I will do it again by next December because I don’t wanna do it in April because then I have to do it again in December of next year

Rick made made my aunts slaw dressing yesterday and he made ribs Baby back ribs that is the way my mom used to in the oven with barbecue sauce and onions. Rick usually buys regular Pork ribs and most of the time does the grill outside unless it’s cold or raining

I really like beef ribs the best on the grill Charred tender on the inside but they are so expensive and hard to find and we don’t usually put barbecue sauce on our ribs Rick makes a dry rub

KyDebbie

The nest BBQ I ever had came from a food truck and had a dry rub.

The food truck I got that from the meat was sliced not shredded and on a sandwich. I can’t remember what kind of meat tho but just so good.

I haven’t had Beef ribs in a long time, we used to go to a Super Club that served all you could eat beef ribs-it was so good. Us gals would pile into my friend Bev’s van, like 7 of us we would just sit in back on the floor there were no seats. Gosh we had fun😍

That slaw recipe sounds good. I like that kind of dressing better than the Mayo based ones. The ribs look delicious.

I like Mayo based ones too. I know Rick last night said oh we probably won’t be using the mail once again but this made quite a big batch it does say it keeps in the refrigerator but I don’t know for how long

KyDebbie
July 20, 2026 10:10 am

With the vinegar I’d say it will last a long time. The only thing in there that could possible spoil is the onion but the vinegar is a natural preservative. As long as it tastes good it probably is good.

He cut the recipe in half but it still made more than we’re going to use I’m leaving so it’ll probably end up going to waste

KyDebbie
July 20, 2026 11:48 am

Why don’t you freeze some? But I really think it won’t spoil. How long does mustard or ketchup last in your refrigerator? ThIs dressing should last just as long.

looks fantastic, is that recipe in your mom’s handwriting, if so, I think it’s cool to have something that was actually written in our parents handwriting, I have a journal that my mom kept for a while all in her handwriting, tho some of it is hard to read bc she didn’t have the best penmanship, but I love it and between me and my siblings we are able to decipher it lol,,,,oops after rereading it I see it was your aunt’s recipe

Pretty tootsies. I knew your stress level was going to go up! There probably isn’t anything you can do about it. We can tell ourselves all kinds of things but as you said, it won’t go away until you reach MN soil. Then you will physically feel it just lift off. It will probably do it as soon as you sit down on the second flight. We will miss you but you will have a ton of fun. Watch out for bears!
