You are watching a mating pair of Bald Eagles named M2(male) and F3(female). The nest and PTZ cams are located in a Loblolly pine tree near Kincaid Lake in the Kisatchie National Forest. The cams have been set-up and are maintained by the U.S. Forest service. Nesting usually starts in December followed by egg laying in mid to late January.

Jazz was testing the waters today. Jazz bonked/bit Nola’s head.
Nola was shocked by it, sat up quickly, and accidentally knocked over Jazz in the process.
Nola didn’t bonk Jazz back because Nola didn’t know who bonked. 😅
A minute later, Jazz bonks Nola on the back. Jazz was sure feisty tonight.
This time Nola bonked back and Jazz didn’t bonk anymore.
At E-3 Jazz got to eat when Nola fell asleep
The dad brought a fish and this woke Nola up. There was a dual feeding for a little bit which was nice.
Then Nola saw that Jazz was eating, and left the dad to go get fish from the mom, so that was the end of Jazz’s meal. Jazz did get fed one other time later in the day.
At 1 pm Gumbo’s crop was flat. Roux was eating. Gumbo didn’t get to eat until 16:24 and that was only for 10 minutes (it was the end of a fish that Roux had just been eating). Roux was full at this point. Gumbo was using strategy, waited until Roux was full, then moved along the rails to the other side of the parent in order to get fed without getting bonked.

Pretty difficult for the youngest in the E-3 nest as well. Jazz pretty much can’t eat unless Nola is sleeping. Too much bonking. But at least Jazz eventually had a fairly good crop.
Yes it’s hard to watch 😥 I pray that as they get a bit older they can get along 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Louis brought fish at 7:58 and 8:14. Roux was fed fish, constantly bonked Gumbo. At 9:08, Gumbo was squeeing and went between Anna’s feet, and there was fish left. Roux tried to bonk. Instead of feeding Gumbo, the mom backs up and she flew away. At 9:37 Louis brings a partial bird. Anna not there. Gumbo cries out. Even though Roux still has food in crop, bonks Gumbo. I was watching this too 😭 it’s like Roux doesn’t even want Gumbo to move ever. So praying 🙏 it all works out
Anna doesn’t seem to care for the 2nd born. He/she looked at for food and she went to the fish and feed the 1st born instead. Anna needs to care for both or dad needs to step it up and feed #2.
It’s not that she doesn’t care she has to feed the firstborn. Try to get it stuffed before the other one can eat because she knows it will just keep getting bonked.. I often wonder when watching these ego cams we’re either one of the parents the second born or were they the bonkers?
I’m worried about Anna and Louis’ little one it never gets any food only bonked and sometimes for no reason. I know it’s a way a life but its hearbreaking.
