You are watching a mating pair of Bald Eagles named M2(male) and F3(female). The nest and PTZ cams are located in a Loblolly pine tree near Kincaid Lake in the Kisatchie National Forest. The cams have been set-up and are maintained by the U.S. Forest service. Nesting usually starts in December followed by egg laying in mid to late January.

This afternoon at the E-3 nest, both E’s were fed fish.
12:58 E-1 feeding – Both E’s were eating a turtle, but Gumbo got the majority. Gumbo was sneaking a lot of bites in the beginning, but then Roux left and laid down, so Gumbo ended up with a full crop. Just after 5 pm, the mom was eating and feeding small bits of nestovers from the turtle shell and fish head. Both E’s got a few bites, but not much. Gumbo still had food in his/her crop.

I thought it was another turtle 🐢 when he brought it in .. till he started moving it around. I don’t think 🤔 I have ever seen one this big before. Sure would have loved to see it with the body. ❤️
Would a fish that big be from this lake, or would that be a scrap that a resident or a fish store tossed in the garbage? One time I saw an eagle in Alaska bring fish scraps to the nest in a big plastic bag. The bag had been thrown out by a local fish store and the eagle grabbed it to feed their eaglet.
I not sure. But I feel like it came from here so I looked this is what I found ❤️

Happy Monday E-1 nest not sure what Louis brought in. Chat says maybe a huge carp.. Gumbo is right up there making sure it gets fed this morning.
Jazz and Nola ate well today, sharing fish.

Good morning happy Sunday 😊E-1 Louis ll brought in a good size Mackerel and Roux ate it all.. after Ann ll fed Roux she left.. and about half hour in came Louis with a huge turtle 🐢 and Gumbo got right in front and got the whole thing .. Roux just watching. ❤️
So glad to hear that Gumbo got a turtle this morning! Not just because Gumbo ate, but also because it’s good for both of the E’s to know and experience all of the different types of prey that are good to eat. At the 15:30 feeding, Roux ate almost the whole fish, Gumbo only got 14 bites. Roux kept trying to bonk Gumbo, so Gumbo was staying behind the parent. Afterwards, Roux’s crop was huge, Gumbo’s was almost flat. No feeding after this.
MaryNj Roux got both of them fish so glad Gumbo was able to get a few bites of the second fish 🐟 hope Louis ll well bring in more food tomorrow.. he brought in 1 fish and 3 turtles .. Anna ll brought the other fish ❤️
