KNF Bald Eagles
Kincaid Lake, Louisiana
You are watching a mating pair of Bald Eagles named M2(male) and F3(female). The nest and PTZ cams are located in a Loblolly pine tree near Kincaid Lake in the Kisatchie National Forest. The cams have been set-up and are maintained by the U.S. Forest service. Nesting usually starts in December followed by egg laying in mid to late January.

Gumbo was self feeding
and mantling
Jazz and Nola both seem to be doing well and growing. Yikes! Makes me nervous to see Jazz hanging on the edge of the nest on the left side. So little railing there, but that’s where the shade is.
Glad that the E-1 nest cam is working again, thanks to the ranger. 😃
The eaglets in the E-3 nest got a special treat today – alligator!
Alex and Andrea both fed the alligator to the E’s.

E-1 nest from You Tube Chat – “A critter chewed a hole in the coaxial cable for the antenna that the E-1 cams get the internet from. The cam will be down until Steve can get out there on Monday to attempt to splice in a new section of coaxial cable for the antenna.”
E-1 nest – at about noon, the parent (mom?) brought a water bird and fed it to both E’s. The parent made sure that Gumbo got some bird, and then turned to feed Roux. Gumbo was also stealing pieces too, since Roux kept threatening to bonk. But Gumbo is not as small as before, so it is harder for Roux to actually bonk Gumbo’s head now. Both E’s had very good crops an hour later when the bird was finished.
There was no other food delivery, but at 6 pm, they still had nice crops from the bird.
At the E-3 nest, they had 6 fish delivered, and both E’s ate well throughout the day. Good job mom and dad!
