Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good late morning…DH is working at home until he leaves for the cemetery..might come back for lunch around 1 something. He got a text from DS’s friend that DS started the race but quit because of pain. I’m hoping he’ll do what he usually does…chiro, resting for awhile…especially since he was getting ready for Western States. When he was in Reno recently he did a photo shoot for Carhart, cool…and also a promo for Reno.
I checked my phone and it doesn’t say severe now but still possible storms with heavy rain so we’ll see.

Good morning Lynn. Sorry your son couldn’t continue with the race. Hope the pain can be quick;y dealt with. It is good he can still earn a living doing photo and promo shoots. I suppose he has an agent who secure these jobs. Your son sure has a storied life.

no agent, just a company that sponsors him….he used to have a few different companies, don’t know if that is still the case. ..and not sure how or why he modeled for Carhart. I think what he really enjoyed was being a race photographer for one of the races..he went up the mountain and is used to rough terrain.

Good Morning Lynn, sorry about DS’s DNF, he will recoup and train for Western States, it’s not until June so there’s time to train for it😘 Carhart is a very big name. I have a Carhart winter jacket😘

I did have a Carhartt jacket. It was very well made and very heavy for a jacket. I recently pulled it out of my closet for Goodwill. Maybe next Fall I’ll look for another one.

They make very good jackets😍 and now they come in different colors, not just the Carhart brown, my jacket is Maroon-think the other colors were Blue, Green, Gray and black?

Good morning Bella Buds. We are sunny, 68, up to mid 80s. Sunday morning it will be 40. I’m not sure what I’ll get into today. Will see. I have very few skills, no talent. But sometimes I can figure out a solution to a specific problem. I’m like my Dad that way. We have had a problem for some time with Casey coming off his cage, which can be dangerous or destructive. He does it mostly when Jo is around, seldom with just me. I think it is because he gets drama from Jo, which Amazons love! Makita used… Read more »

Good Morning Debbie, we could get a freeze on Sunday. I will have to cover some plants that have come up, my Bleeding Hearts and some flowers will need to be covered. Your solution for Casey does sound like a good one😘 I can see him climb down so far and then the slinky monster he won’t touch it. Can he jump off his cage with a wing flaps?

Thanks Ardy I won’t be able to tell for sure until he is no longer fearful of it, but I’m optimistic it will work. It won’t support his weight but will stretch down. I think he will know that when he starts to beak it and won’t even try. And good still morning to you.

Anytime you click on a post from yesterday posts get out of order. Sometimes I have to refresh several times, or turn the computer off and back on to get posts in the right order.

Good Morning Bellas😘Darn F 35’s going over I can’t even think, so loud my brain didn’t want to work. So much for enjoying the nice morning of birds singing so peaceful, then peace shattered by the sound of war.The sound people here before they are bombed, they would hear the jets from far off coming…I can’t fathom the fear you would have😫well might as well top it off by storms coming today. Yep with all its goodies on the table. rain, wind, hail, possible Tornados, the usual excitement😜so dear Bellas a lovely start to your Friday😍 coffee clinks

Well, good morning Sunshine, even tho it doesn’t sound like a very good morning. Sorry about the jets, I don’t know why they can’t locate them in a remote area of the country. So another round of bad storms. The people of Wisconsin have had more than their share of bad weather. Well, you know what to do to stay safe, like NOT be upstairs if there is a danger of a tree falling on your house. There isn’t an attic above your head to put space between you and the tree. Try to have a good day. Hope it… Read more »
