Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Thanks for the info Gabi. I read they put him in a sling between two boats to try to move him out, but I couldn’t find any more. I knew at the time it was dark in Germany so I didn’t try to read more.
They WANTED to put him onto a net between two boat-like swimming things and pull him with a ship out of the baltic sea into the North sea. They were still preparing it. But this morning, he started swimming on his own – after 20 days being stuck and still alive !! – because water level rose. Stronger wind was pushing more water into the bay where he was stuck. I am so sorry for this poor whale, so the water rose, he swam, and then I suppose the water went back down. The whole Baltic Sea must be very shallow that he couldn’t swim out during this time, maybe with the boats herding him in the right direction.

…he swam, the water was still high enough, BUT another sandbank in the way. Stuck . He still did move some later, more sliding than swimming, resting now. They had some machine, which blew away sand near the whale, so it would be easier for him to start swimming again. Boats are ready, to guide him to deeper water and to the north sea, if possible. This just breaks my heart. It is so sad. It seems like everything is against the poor well. I have not seen anything about this on our tv, I think it would help if it was on tv. The us-vet dr. Jenna wallace went back to usa. She was so mad at some guys in the whale -helper -team. In the team was or is a stupid influencer, a “whale whisperer” and so on . I thought that woman was a man when I saw the video. I was confused. So many people are out just for themselves, profit, instead of the whale. It is sad. I think you came to Bella a little before Julie, maybe a year before, and I think Julie came in 2020. I enjoy salads, I put lots of different things in a tossed salad. Good evening. I was so tired last night, that I slept til 3 this afternoon. Non-stop, I think. Dutchess had to wake me. “Come on, Mom — time for me to eat — then you can go back to sleep!” I felt guilty. Anyway, I’ve been behind all day. And believe it or not, I’m still tired! 🤯

Good morning, Debbie. Dutchess’ health seems to be in a constant state of flux. One minute looks good, the next minute looks questionable. She no longer has a fever. Now that she is back on semi-regular food, maybe she will mend totally soon. She has had several different diets during this illness. Another bm check on Monday.
I didn’t know she had a fever. So you don’t have to cook the chicken/rice now? I know that was a lot of work for you. Did they find anything going on in her BM? I sure hope she grows stronger and stronger.
I am just finishing up the tail end of the chicken and rice mix with the new food. I didn’t want to do a complete switch right away, I wanted to do it gradually. I am glad that I won’t have to do that anymore, at least for a while. I am hoping she gets stronger also. She is acting more like herself these days. No prob with the BM, other than she is a little dehydrated, which I already knew and had just started adding more water to her food.

Hello…we came up, got the all clear. ..but now it’s storming, lots of lightning and heavy rain…DH ran out in the lightning which scared me, but he had to get to his dad’s. Scout is in her safe spot in the bedroom, I put a blanket down for her. I guess the bad stuff went around us, north and south.

Are you talking about Lin? The last time she wrote me was my birthday. I responded. Then I wrote her again right before Easter and she didn’t respond. So I don’t know. I miss her a lot and she is on my mind just about every day. Usually once a day I delete emails that are meaningless and when I do I come to the first one I don’t delete, my Easter greetings to Lin. And of course I think about her.
