Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I should be a vegetarian. But then I guess there would be not many farm animals if everyone did that.
I have days I purposely don’t eat meat-I could live w/o eating it. I don’t need to eat meat. I do feel bad for beef cattle, when they go to the plant to be killed and processed-I do believe they know what’s going on, they for one can smell death in the air. They have brains they think they feel fear😳
or there would be a whole lot more 😄

I think so too, I love when cows put their ears for ward when they are curious about something once I was in a pasture of Holstein Dairy cows and they all lined up to look at me ears forward looking at me then one brave cow came out of the line and came towards me like what are you and why are you in our pasture? they followed me around like a bunch of puppies so curious and gentile

It was so much fun, I was in the pasture with a friend we were there because we were trout fishing the stream ran through the pasture😍

you have to be very careful if you don’t eat meat..at least from all the research my DH has done..eventually you start having some serious issues and your body starts to break down or something like that…some people who know what they are doing can maybe do it a little longer but not forever

The berries do look good so different than the wild blueberries that we pick up north on bushes on the side of the road these were on small trees

They are the best and have more flavor😋 just have to clean them good-get the bear fur off of them-the bear eat them too and are there eating very early in the morning, when Mom and I would go picking would be like around 10 am that gives the bear time to eat some and you can tell they were just there because of the tracks in the sand road and the fresh beat scat, some times you would see one back in the woods if it was closer we would put our pails down with the blueberries in them… Read more »

I would have just run, without another thought! 🤣😅 But you are right, you would deserve at least half of them.
I think running is the first instinct but not the best choice.

No, I basically have a plain yard these days. We have 1/4 acre. I used to have flower beds and bushes everywhere. Was not able to maintain everything as I aged. A guy mows the yard now, and I water it. That’s about it. I did enjoy it for many years, though. I have a hard enough time keeping the house squared away. 😂 I decided I wanted to relax some.
I don’t blame you. I think there is 2.5 acres here. Part is mowed, part is bushhogged. We just have grass and several trees. We never water or worry about weeds. This is the first year we have someone to mow. They do weedesting too but not every time. Time for Casey.

I have never thought of, or tried to scrub bear fur off of my berries. 🤭😂But then, I lived in Alabama and don’t know if they lived down there. I’m sure my aunt knew what to do when she told us to go out and pick the blueberries. They were growing wild on the county roads.
You just put them in water, the fur floats you can skim it off, plus putting them in water kills the bugs too

Yep, we did. Swore up and down when we got home that we didn’t eat any. But I’m guessing the adults were probably laughing, there was evidence everywhere, I’m sure.

Me too. But sometimes that’s all I can get. Those are usually my grumpy days. I guess I just don’t like to be rushed any more. What are your plans for the day?
I may go out into the garage and pull out some things that need to be thrown away. I’m stumped though as to what I can do with things that should not be thrown away in the regular garbage. I think we have some paint that may be dried up. I think you can throw it away that is not liquid anymore, especially water based paint? Might need to call the court house and find out if there is a hazardous materials collection day? I really don’t think we have one of those.
Maybe you can make a list of all the things in the garage that you will have to make calls on. And then make them all in one day.
I can gather now, decide what needs to go, access.
I will have to do that sometime soon. Can’t wait!

The first thing I’m going to do is attack my kitchen table. It’s got about 2 weeks of stuff on it. I keep it clean enough to serve meals, but it does tend to collect mail and other things.
