Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

You got the prep done that is the hard part. You can plant tomorrow. Maybe your brother didn’t know he broke it, but if he did he should have bought a new one. The moth is so pretty. It does look like a hummer.

I love those clear wings. I’ve never seen them before on any moth, butterfly or humming bird. So sorry you had to be disappointed, honey, with the hose, etc, after working so hard. Sloppy Joe’s sound really good. One of my very favorites.

I didn’t get much done today. Earlier two deer ran through our back yard, we don’t see that very often. I did laundry and got interested in a tennis match. Never made it to the garage.

Wow! 2 deer! I bet that was a shock. I finally got my table cleaned off. You’d be surprised how many little things just end up on the table and you wonder “what in the heck am I going to do with this?” 😆 I have changed my mind on supper. I am going to have some chicken and vegetable soup and some kind of fruit afterward. I did other stuff today, but I really can’t remember what.

Howdy-do BellaFam 💖 Got to 81 today; not that hot, but coupled with heavy humidity, A/C kicked on around noon after a nice few days without it. I think i did the same thing to my laptop cover/lid that Julie did to hers. 😟 Dell’s burn hot and i was lifting to cool off the bottom; when i heard it kinda snap. Oh well, as long as it still works. Got Nephew/Christian’s b-day card mailed, it’s not ’til the 11th, but i don’t trust USPS. 😫 Karen’s up early 😊 The aloe plant is lovely, looks nice and healthy; it’ll… Read more »

Hi Pam, humidity sure can make a difference in how hot you feel. We are 82 in the house with 62% humidity. The air is stirring a little, so it is ok. We have some open windows. I hope your computer continues to work. Just lifting it up should not have done that. Christian was born on the same date but certainly not the same day as my younger sister.

It is difficult to clip my fingernails. To hold the clippers in my right and clip the left, I have to bring the clippers up to my chin and use my chin to help press down on the thumb holding the clippers. But it isn’t badly painful, more like just uncomfortable.

Hi Karen, I didn’t get much done. I have bought pomegranate seeds for Casey, parrots like them and they are healthy. A lot of people make smoothies with them in it. Thanks for the paint info. Pork chops sound good. I should eat applesauce more. I don’t think of it, but it would be good with pork chops.

Good afternoon. I went for a short walk this morning. Then Rick and I went over to Mike and Jamie’s at 10:00, Jamie is Rick’s stepsister. She is going to make a purse for me to give to cousin’s wife in California. So I went over to pick out the material. Then they sent us home with the plant like we need another one on the patio. But I liked it and they even have pomegranates growing on their tree. Now I am going to rest and watch my soap operas.

Hello…here for a minute…tired again and will take a short nap later. Debbie, I know with paint you add kitty litter, maybe that’s if you throw it away? the best is to go to a hazardous waste event or place…or even better, put it on facebook market place for free!! I’m sure people would be interested, at least they are here.

Hi Lynn, get your rest. I’ll have to see what is out on the garage shelves. I really don’t know what our local guidelines are for some things that may be out there. I know are resources are few. I know once a year we can get rid of bulky stuff like an old coach or something, but I don’t know about petroleum products or something like that. Old oils might be gotten rid of at an automotive place where they change oil. Thanks for the suggestions. I hope you have a good day.
