Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hot dog, two people just climbed the Empire State Building appears to be a man and a woman, they hung a flag that says😍
I couldn’t read it so I googled:
What does the banner say? The banner displayed a quote widely attributed to legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” The message is commonly associated with promoting peace, compassion, and unity over conflict and the pursuit of power.37 mins ago
I posted a picture of what it said above
I can’t read the flag in either picture if that is what you mean.
Looks like the couple became engaged up there too😃?
I wonder if they’ll be arrested ?
yes, they were taken into custody
i just read it…lol
I hope it was worth it for them for whatever fine they get 🙄
They got engaged and sent a beautiful message to the world-it was worth it😍
I’m back from getting Jades Temptations, I’m sitting for a minute to drink some water, like a fool I walked and didn’t bring any water with me but I bought a bottle for my way back, now I need to drink some before I go change the bird bath water
Oh, Serena had swelling in her right knee starting the end of the second set hesterday. The commentators are wondering if she can play doubles tomorrow. Yesterday’s match if you remember went 3 sets, the second one long. It must have took persistence to go that long.
Oh no I was just gonna ask you when her doubles was Thanks for the information
If her knee was swollen at the end of the set the injury probably occurred early in the set. She lost that set and that injury may be why. I’ll let you know about the doubles but if the match plays it will be tomorrow. The day of a match only changes for a weather delay, like a rain out. It won’t change because Serena is injured. She either plays or has to withdraw.
OK thanks
Thats disappointing to hear and probably painful for Serena, she knows her body and will decide if she will play, but that’s a big factor…
I suspect if she plays it will be so Venus won’t have to withdraw too. But Venus will definitely not encourage her to play.
I wouldn’t think so, can’t play with a injury-but I suppose what the injury is, is a factor too.
It depends on if they get the swelling down I suppose, and whether the injury could be made worse by playing. They can apply a lot of tape too. Doubles isn’t as hard on the body as singles. And early in a tournament the competition is easier.
Yes what the injury is, nothing torn. They can get the swelling down if that’s all it is😘
Swelling had to be for a reason, just don’t know if it can be corrected enough for tomorrow. She wasn’t really visually impaired.
I think they will find a way, Debbie. 😍
Heading out now CU
Enjoy your day.
It sucks outside and I noticed the heat has made people angry, almost saw a head on collision in Mcdonalds parking lot the guy’s just sat there cars facing each other yelling out their windows-one guy was in the wrong because he was going the wrong way. I was a witness so I stuck around to see what happened ready to call 911 if anything happened. The Dollar store was closed because the got a shipment of frozen food that had to be put away so I didn’t get to go there, but walked by and people were yelling about… Read more »
Good grief Julie but it seems the Dollar store must be understaffed. Maybe they had an employee call in sick or something. But I imagine they were not closed long.
Good morning Bella Buds and happy July to you. I just got little things to do. I’m going to cook some savoy cabbage, a first. I’m got hummer nectar made to fill feeders, so I need to wash the ones we take down. I’ve washed Casey’s “treat” box. I put raw fruits and veggies in there, washed and ready, and whole, cracked walnuts. Then I can quickly fix it for him. He gets these things about 4:30. Shower, maybe wash a few clothes. Ok in other words this and that!
Have a good day.
Hi Debbie
How will you eat the cabbage?
I’m going to sauté it, something I haven’t done with cabbage since the early 80’s. Then it was Thai style, eaten on rice. This is my first time to eat this variety of cabbage. I’ve never seen it before. I think it will be really good cooked this way. I’m even going to use a little butter, and olive oil too.
Yep saute’ it, it doesn’t take long to cook don’t over cook it or it will end up like mush. Saute’ it with garlic and ginger add a splash of soy sauce😋
Good ideas. I read about garlic, maybe I’ll try the ginger. The soy sauce is a good idea.
sounds good to me, I love to cook cabbage
I liked just plain cabbage sautéed, I’m sure I will this.
Good morning and Happy July 1st Debbie, I’m not doing much today, just got out of the shower have to go get Jade some temptations and probably stop at the Dollar Store as its on my way. Then fresh water in the bird baths maybe bring Jade outside for a bit before its to hot, again its a day of replacing roofs, just get tired of hearing all the hammering. Because its right next to me this is the 4th house in as many days🙄
Soon it will be your roof. Enjoy the outside. I wish you didn’t have the mosquitos.
Mosquitoes are not bad if I’m on the side walk
So you will just stay on the sidewalk not back yard? How is your garden doing.
Oh that was for Jades temptations, I will have to go in the back yard just have to be fast, Garden is good full of weeds but good
Have you eaten anything from it yet?
Good morning. It was nice and cool when i walked . It was 68° but of course it will be warming up fast.
We had a nice meal (prime rib) and were given an ice cream sundae for our Anniversary.
Nothing planned for today…I have already done my chores, feeding the pets and birds.
Good morning Ardy. I’m glad you enjoyed your Anniversity. Y’all look good, and looks like a nice place.
It is sorta our tradition to go there but we dont go that often……it was better back in the 80’s.
I love traditions😍
Me too!
Maybe next year find a different restaurant with the same food. The tradition of what you eat will be the same, just not the same restaurant. Or make a completely mew tradition. Or keep everything the same!
I think you need the ambiance to make the Tradition special, its a beautiful restaurant😘
😘
We dont go out every year. We have gone to other restaurants for our ANNV and Rick has made special meals which are better than eating out. We do like El Corral for prime rib, always have.
El Corral is our place for prime rib, wouldnt change it for our Annv. It wouldnt be the same.
Good Morning Ardyth😍 what a pretty place you ate at, how was the prime rib? Prime rib is usually on Saturdays here like that’s when you can get it, sometimes a place will have it on Fridays too. Your hair looks great and I see a Prickly Pear Margaritta, Rick and the Sundae really a great picture of him-thats a huge sundae
We have been going to this place since the 80’s. Of course it was much cheaper and busier then.
Rick asked if we got something for our Anniversary…he is NOT shy!!! She said a small cup of an ice-cream sundae.
It was bigger than we expected and i ate the maraschino cherry right away.
They made that sundae special for you two, and the Prime Rib looks excelent😋I like it rare and that would do😍Good grab on the cherry😂
😂
Medium rare is good for me.
Oh wow that look’s delicious. All of it. How was the prickly pear cocktail? I can’t imagine what that tastes like.
Delicious!
Well it sounds like to me the restaurant is still really good.
Maybe it was just more fun in the 80s because we went with friends all the time LOL
Could be. And maybe because you got used to eating in a lot of Mexican restaurants.
Julie I know there’s a bar called Nevada Smith, a neighborhood bar that serves prime rib or maybe at steak i’m not sure like on Saturday night but we’ve never been there. And I know there’s a couple other bars but kind of far from us and El Corral is just around the corner to speak And we’ve always liked the place
Hopping in the shower need to run an errand
