Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Another 100-degree day 🔥 We’re still here, in our house; fire still raging. There is some improvement; it’s about 10% contained, not much, but more than any day since it started with the lightning strike. ⚡ “Fire Weather Warning” still up for our area. There was a checklist of items to gather posted by our local news on FB; i’m keeping it handy. I cannot thank you enough for all the prayers and good thoughts for our safety. Neither Chuck nor I have said anything to Rick yet.
Love and Hugs 💞

Hi Pam, I’m so happy to know, as of right now, you are holding your own. Do you know if an emergency signal will come over your phone if something new emerged at night, when most are asleep? Any rain in your forecast? I’m thinking of you, praying for you and Karen that things remain stable or better. How about your air quality?

10 % is better than 0, now if people don’t light any fireworks🙄 Thats fantastic they posted a list, for people to follow and get ready incase of evacuation. Rick still doesn’t know? are one of you getting any of his stuff ready (list) maybe that would calm him doing some packing for himself?

Rick is an extremely reclusive person, isn’t he? Glad you and Chuck can be there for him. Beautiful greeting photo.

How about smoke and how far away are fires?

Air quality down. Just a little smoke seen. 60-90 miles from fire from north and south i think. They change so fast with the wind.

I was hopin’ and prayin’ – and hopin’ and prayin’, but it wouldn’t stop. Forecast says nothing until 3 or 4 days.

I hope the fire stays away from you. If smoke is bad wear a mask. It will help, especially if you have a N95. I used one of those when I cleaned the bathroom with bleach. My lungs was started to feel bad and when I put on that mask it was like breathing pure air.

You will be going out to run errands. Your regular mask will still help, just not as much as the N95. Drug stores might sell them.
